I ordered the potty patch weeks ago and have not received it. My dog is 10 years old and I trained her on puppy pads as a puppy since I worked very long hours. I thought she would be easy to adjust to the potty patch.
By the way, she is also trained for outside.

It took our Bichon a few weeks to get used to it...at first he did no 2 on it, then a few days later no 1...he seemed to look sheepish when he used it, as though he was "in trouble", but I encouraged him,and now it works on our apt balcony when we cant get out.Heuses it once or twice daily when we are out,and he can't wait. It DOES smell pretty bad from urine, and although I am cleaing it daily as directed, it does smell...I cant imagine having it in the house...

i too have purchased a potty patch, i have a small japanese chin dog who will freeze this winter if he goes outside and does use this potty patch but it is not big enough even for a 5 lb dog, what are they thinking of to show a lab. i believe using it, it also smells very bad even though i wash it every day. my doggie still goes on the carpet if i do not make him go on the potty patch. they need to make it a lot larger and wider then where would you keep it? it needs to be handy for them to find and use. i am not impressed with it at all, in fact i am going to email or call them about it, the smell again is horrible and it is to small if you can get them to use it.

I have a 7 month old Sheltie/ Shepard mix & the potty patch is WONDERFUL. She can't hold it for the full day while we are at work & would go right in front of the back door, trying to go out, we have a indoor cat also so can't have a doggy door. She uses the patch during the day. Urine runs thru & solids stay ontop of the grass to be picked up. I am SOOOOOOOOOO GLAD we got this for her!!!!!!!!!.

Violet, you can usually find the pheromone spray at health food type stores. I've used it for both dogs and cats and it works great. We also used it at a shelter I volunteered at and it really helped calm the animals, I don't know how good it would do for attracting your pet to the potty place. Good luck.

I have tried to find out how to order the pheromone spray, but can only get to the website to order more potty patch's - don't want to do that. Will throw these away if I do not get any help.

To the person with the cat that refuses to use the litter box try changeing the brand of litter. Some cats are very finicky . Also have it check for a urinary infection. We had both problems in the past.

As a kid ,Mom always trained our dogs to use the news paper. I'm thinking that the potty patch is the same thing. You have to train your dog to use it. Puppies would be the easiest . We tried to train out 2 Sitzues to use a litter box after they were housebroken. To hard.
