101 Things About Dogs E-book Is Here!!!

July 17, 2009

101-ebook-cover6The long-awaited (by me, anyways) publication of my book as an e-book download is finally a reality!  That’s right, you can now download your very own copy of “101 Things You Should Know Before Getting a Dog:  A Little Instruction Book for Prospective Dog Guardians” right here, right now!

It took us awhile to get the site set up to accept payments securely and to get the book to download properly, but it is now ready for your purchase.

As some of you know, the book was published first in softcover (available here), but it is pretty expensive to do the color printing.  So, we wanted to find a way to get this valuable resource in your hands at a more reasonable price – just $9.95.

Click here to be taken to the sales page for the e-book.  Be sure to let us know what you think!

Thanks.

Until next time,

Good day, and good dog!

Help Homeless Pets

July 16, 2009

bring-pets-home-logI received a couple of e-mails last week with information on a new website that allows visitors to “obtain valuable pet care information, interact with fellow pet lovers in an online community, and shop online to raise money for homeless pets.”  What I like is that you get to choose which shelter your purchases will support, so you can keep your money local.

Although we’d rather you got all of your dog-related information from us, we felt obligated to pass this information on because it does help raise funds for an important cause:  reducing the number of animals left to live out their days in shelters.  Anyways, below is the press release, and I’ve added the site to our blogroll as well.

Why do dogs eat grass?

July 13, 2009

dog-in-grassFor the most part, dogs are meat-loving carnivores.  In fact, their jaws aren’t even made to move any way other than up and down, making it impossible for them to grind up grains in their teeth.  So, why do they insist on eating grass?

July 9, 2009

hachiko-statueI’m not sure when this is due out, but Richard Gere is now publicizing his new movie, called “Hachi:  A Dog’s Story”.  I don’t know whether this is based on a true story or on an urban legend, but the Japanese feel very strongly about the dog known as Hachiko.
