The Fox and the Hound

  Isn’t this a great picture?  It is from the Canton Repository, accompanying a story about a fox hunt in Central Ohio, where the goal is only to chase the foxes, not to kill them.  As one of the girls involved in the hunt stated, “We want them there for the next week!”

I thought the story was interesting and it tells you a little bit about how hounds are trained for the hunt.

Shelter Sunday: Animal Adoption Foundation / Ross, Ohio

Shelter Sunday will be just a little different this weekend.  I spent the holidays with my Mom in Southwestern Ohio, and as one of our outings, we went to the tiny (think 2-sided stop signs) town of Shandon, Ohio.  As part of their annual Christmas in the Country festival, they had a dog parade featuring some of the dogs available for adoption at the Animal Adoption Foundation in nearby Ross, Ohio.

Sick, sick dogs

So, apparently I lied when I said my dogs only got their regular kibble.  Just got a call from the dog-sitter that she accidentally left the pantry door ajar.  My dogs had Pop-Tarts and popcorn overnight and are now paying the price.  Yuck!  Kind of glad I’m not home!

Saturday Survey: Your Dog’s Thanksgiving Meal

Did your dog enjoy Thanksgiving as much as you did? We had one commenter say her dog had the “unpleasant” task of saving hot water and energy by cleaning the plates, which made me wonder what your dogs will be eating. My dogs got left at home while we went to Grandma’s for the weekend, so they only had their normal kibble.
