Temperament:
The Sloughis are affectionate, gentle, and very closely knit to their owners. They are intelligent and independent, and curious of their surroundings. They get along well with children and other animals if they are raised with them.
Health Concerns:
Sloughis are generally very healthy, free of inherent genetic defects. In rare cases progressive retinal athropy (PRA or night blindness) is found, but most dogs are DNA tested and PRA is being eliminated through careful breeding.
Life Expectancy:
The life expectancy of Sloughis is 10 to 15 years.
Living Environment:
They like to run daily and will be truly happy if they are allowed to run off-leash in safe areas. After a good exercise, they like to rest indoors in comfortable spots.
