I posted recently about how some people trust their dog’s judgment when choosing their dates and mates. Here’s a new twist on that theme.
As you know, I search the Internet daily, looking for news that might be of interest to dog-lovers. This one just cracked me up, and I had to share it.
From a column in The (Montreal) Gazette:
Q: My new boyfriend and I are both crazy about dogs. However, when I met his dog – guess what, the dog was not fixed! I feel very strongly about spay/neuter because we have too many dogs. My boyfriend says he just can’t take off his dog’s “parts.” How can we continue our relationship?
K.C.,
A: I believe men who don’t neuter their dogs are ignorant and/or squeamish. Having said that, your friend is entitled to his point of view. My larger question: Is your boyfriend an otherwise responsible and loving dog owner? If the answer is no, seek another pal; he’s not for you. If the answer is yes, you may have to agree to disagree about this issue.
So, what do you think, readers? Should the refusal of the boyfriend to neuter his dog be grounds for dumping him?
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
