Halloween for Dogs

Have you figured out your dog’s costume for Halloween yet?  I did a little research today online and found some really cute ideas!  Check out the sites below and see what you think.

http://www.glamourdog.com/costumes.html  Prices start as low as $5 for a scrunchy collar or bandanna.  More complete costumes run a little over $30.  The collection includes a French maid’s outfit, public servant costumes, such as police or fire uniforms, a bumblebee, a ladybug, a skeleton, and my personal favorite (if you own a chihuahua):  a taco! http://www.wiggle-n-waggle.com/servlet/the-Dog-Halloween-Costumes/Categories?gclid=CPWl_Mm6qpYCFQOIFQodCzw-zQ  Prices run from $10 for a sweatshirt to about $29.  You will find costumes to dress up your little darling as a cow, witch, angel, hot dog, bunny, or skunk.  Or, if you are more fashion conscious, they have tuxes and gowns, too.

http://www.petco.com/shop/navGuide.aspx?navguideid=14&cm_ven=GoogleP&cm_cat=Halloween&cm_pla=Halloween_Dog&cm_ite=dog%20halloween%20costumes.  Most of the outfits here ran about $20, but are currently on sale for $18.  They have hero costumes, character costumes, and what they call sidekicks.  These are outfits that include a stuffed figure riding on the back.  For example, if you buy the horse costume, you get a stuffed cowboy to ride on his back.  The site also sells accessories such as hats, shirts, and bandannas.

http://www.buycostumes.com/CategoryPage/Pets_132.aspx  Prices run from $12.99 to $18.99.  They have some really cute outfits here, including TV/movie characters such as Yoda, Batman, Wonder Woman, Shrek, and Dorothy.  Some of these look really cute if your dog stands on his hind legs, which is how they are pictured on the site.  However, I’m not sure how they would work when the dog is on all fours.  However, they did have two clever ideas:  a “watchdog” costume – you guessed it – there is a watch printed on the dog’s back!  The other is a Hugh Hefner type red silk bathrobe.

So, if you’re taking your 2-legged kids out to get candy, why not let your dog join in the fun?

Until next time,

Good day, and good dog!
