I received this horrific e-mail from my friend and fellow animal lover, Pam Amantangelo, today. I hesitate to post such stories because they seem so surreal that I never know whether or not they are true. So, here’s my disclaimer. This does not appear on snopes.com, either as a true story or as a false one. However, the lady listed as collecting signatures does indeed exist, as confirmed by a websearch of employees at the University of Cape Town, where her e-mail address originates. I was horrified and shocked to see the article in the Daily Voice
yesterday about Tammy, a dog that had been burnt so badly by her owners.The owners wanted to punish her for jumping over the wall into the
neighbours place. They fetched her and put her in her kennel and set it
alight.
I am not sure how many of you have seen the pictures. As an animal lover
it brought tears to my eyes because she was burnt so badly. The SPCA had
to put her down.
The SPCA have removed the other 2 dogs from these people and are pressing
criminal charges against them. I am therefore appealing to all animal
lovers to please add your name to the petition so that the owners are
given the maximum punishment befitting to them.
I have spoken with the Daily Voice, and we have an agreement that they
will forward the signatures to the SPCA to use in the prosecution of these
people.

It’s funny, well not funny, but interesting, that my good friend and dog freak companion texts me all of five minutes before I found this article to say how this cute pit followed her home after her run and she would have kept it but her neighbors shot it for chasing their cat. It’s awful. I don’t even understand how you could do that. Poor doggies, what did they do to deserve this??
