I work for a power company, so I know first-hand how much trouble some people have coming up with the money to pay their electric bills each month. The Denver Zoo may have just found the solution!
Using the 75 to 100 pounds of dung produced by their elephants each day, the zoo prepares the poop to produce energy through a process called gassification. (No, I am not making this up – you can read the story and see the video here!)
The gassified solution is sent to a bioenergy researcher who thinks that within a few years, he will have perfected a process that could use elephant dung to power at least one appliance.
Wonder if he has any interest in donations from my back yard?
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
