I posted several months ago about the movie being made with Richard Gere about the story of Hachi, but I never saw it come out in theaters. Maybe it premiered to less-than-favorable crowds and wasn’t shown in my area, but I saw a commercial last night stating that the DVD and Blue-Ray disc are now available.
If you’re not familiar with the story, Hachi accompanied his master to the train station in Japan every morning, and waited for him to come home each night. The master ended up dying at work one day, and the dog waited at the station every day for TEN YEARS for him to come back. There is now a statue at the station honoring the loyalty of this beautiful dog.
I’m anxious to get the DVD. Has anyone out there watched it yet?
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
Just rented the dvd, Hachi, with Richard Gere. Came out Mar 9.. Very well worth watching. Hubby and I both cried at the end. Definitely planning to buy this one
I just watched Hachi last night with my daughter and her best friend, who rented the movie for us. I had read one of the Hachiko books with my daughter, so was really looking forward to this. The movie does not disappoint. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and cried my eyes out at the end. Wonderful.
