Here’s your trivia for the day: the city of San Francisco actually has more dogs than children (140,000 to 108,000). So, it turns out that large numbers may equate to political power.
One of the biggest issues for all of these dog lovers is finding space where their dogs can play off-leash. It seems that may of the parks which formerly allowed off-leash dogs are now demanding that all dogs be leashed, putting a serious cramp in their style.
So, the dog lovers are fighting back. They have formed a political action committee called DOGPAC, which is becoming active in local politics, having endorsed John Avalos in the mayoral race.
