Meet Malibu! This beautiful former racer is now living in a foster home courtesy of Homeward Bound Greyhound Association in Burlington, KY. Here’s what his foster family has to say about him:
Malibu is settling in nicely. He gets along well with his greyhound brother and sister and even his 12 lb. terrier brother.
So far, Malibu gets a “10” for leash walking. On our very first walk he didn’t pull the leash at all and walked nicely by my side. This is a very important skill for a dog who will soon hit the 90 lb mark!
He does show some interest in counter surfing, but it would almost be hard not to at his height! We are working on putting an end to that. So far, he hasn’t actually tried to take anything off the counter, he just wants to know what’s there.
For now, Malibu keeps a close eye on his foster mom and dad. He doesn’t let us out of his sight. He will probably get more independent as he gets used to pet life. We enjoy having him close by.
We look forward to watching Malibu’s personality surface. He will make an amazing companion for a lucky person/family.
UPDATE: Malibu is a big, goofy, loveable boy! He gets excited to see us when we come home and is delighted to meet and greet everyone he sees. Malibu doesn’t view anyone as a stranger!
He absolutely loves children! He even tolerated a youngster putting a hat on him. He actually seemed to pose for the camera! Although he is rather awkward going up and down stairs, he gets the job done and doesn’t appear to be intimidated by them anymore. Malibu really is a joy!
