What a horrible thing to have to report! What started off as a great fluff news piece went horribly wrong in Denver Wednesday, as reported in the Huffington Post.
Max, an 85-pound Argentine Mastiff had fallen through a coating of ice on a lake Tuesday, but was rescued by firefighter Tyler Sugaski. The video of the rescue is embedded above.
KUSA-TV thought it would be a great idea to reunite the dog and the rescuer on its morning news show.
Everything was going well until anchor Kyle Dyer got too close to the dog’s face and was bitten on the lip. In watching the video (available here, if you really want to see it: http://youtu.be/AyA8yjUYxJQ), it doesn’t look like the dog was being vicious, but he did bite Ms. Dyer hard enough to require plastic surgery.
Our thoughts go out to Ms. Dyer with prayers for a speedy recovery.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
