Lots of rescue stories found their way to me last week while I was all wrapped up in the Westminster show, so I’m combining them here (in no particular order) in one big post.
This unknown dog was rescued by firefighters from a lake near Denver.
Calypso, who was rescued from near-certain euthanasia after suffering a spinal bleed. She now rides a custom-made cart and receives hydrotherapy and massage, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and laser therapy. Sorry – the video embed code wouldn’t work for this one, but you can see the story & video here.
Jay Jay, an Austrialian shepherd mix, is headed to Idaho to be trained as a search and rescue dog. He was rescued from a shelter in Western Pennsylvania.
Barney, a Vizsla, was walking with his mom, when they were hit by a drunk driver. Mrs. Chen was killed, and Barney ended up terrified, somehow thinking a swim in the Gulf of Mexico would be a good idea. He was rescued by a kayaker and is now helping the Chen family heal from their loss.
Last, but not least, this cute little guy was rescued from a sewer pipe near Cleveland and may be adopted by one of his rescuers!
If these weren’t enough to warm your heart today, I give up!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
