Well, it’s springtime here in Ohio, so naturally my dogs have decided they need to roam. I came home the other night at about 10:30 and walked in the door with my hands full, so I couldn’t grab them or get the door shut before they got loose. I knew it would take them awhile to come home because they weren’t expecting to be fed before morning, so I just went to bed, knowing that I’d never be able to spot them in the dark.
If you follow this blog, you know that loose dogs are the bane of my existence. The dog warden just loves to see my dogs because he knows we’ll pay the fine and keep him in business for another month. But, happy surprise! I got a phone call at 1:30 in the morning from our local police department that they had found my dogs & were standing in front of my house with them at that very moment!
It was nice to see that the police officer really liked dogs more than he liked putting money in the county’s coffers. He was so concerned because he had tried to put them in the back yard without waking me up, but they were having too much fun with him to go. And, he actually apologized that Kayla had gotten skunked (as if it were his fault!) Then, he was all worried that she was limping until I explained that she’s much too old to be out running, but she doesn’t realize it.
So, I knew that there was at least one public servant in the area who cared about animals. Then, I saw this Fox 8 video from a neighboring town & just knew I had to post it. It’s just a little heartwarming story to start your week off right.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
