I took my son to the library this morning, and made the mistake of taking Kayla and Cooper along for the ride. I forgot today was the day the park district (which shares the building with the library) was hosting the Caring Tails on Stark Trails charity dog walk and doggie dress-up contest. You guessed it, my dogs went nuts the entire time we were waiting outside for Billy.
This was a different kind of event – usually things like this benefit a dog-related charity, but this one was raising funds for the local hospital’s Grief Services organization. I guess dogs are one of the best way to get through grief, so it sorta makes sense. And the dogs did look like they were having fun. The library and park office are located in this beautiful wooded area beside a lake and wetlands – it’s a great setting for any event, and a wonderful place to walk your dog.
In a more traditional dog-related charity event, Mulligan’s Pub and Grille in Avon, Ohio is hosting the 1st Annual Hogs for Hounds Poker Run to Benefit FIDO’s Companion Animal Rescue starting at 10:00 am on Sunday, June 24, 2012. Check out their Facebook page, and get involved!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
