What do you do when someone steals your dog and takes him or her halfway across the country? If you’re lucky, the kidnapper will eventually get tired of the animal and set him loose, but then what?
When this happened to Dan Loefflad and his dog Roxy, they were really glad Roxy carried a microchip. When a family member kidnapped Roxy and took her from Allentown, PA to Houston before turning her loose, there was no guarantee they ever see each other again.
But an animal control officer happened upon Roxy wandering loose. He had her scanned and found the microchip, then contacted Loefflad. Then it was just a matter of finding her a spot on United Airlines to fly home.
