Marley’s Mutts in Kern County, California is asking for your help. They recently took in Hooch (who is named, I presume after the movie “Turner and Hooch”, one of my all-time faves.) But I digress.
From their website: We rescued Hooch from the Bakersfield Shelter on Monday. It was obvious that his ears had been recently cut off (not cropped but butchered), he was severely malnourished, suffered from a terrible Upper Respiratory Infection and had several lacerations around his mouth and what appeared to be a broken or dislocated jaw. When we examined him today to ready him for x-ray, we discovered that his tongue, much like his ears, had been cut off.
Appalling, right? So what can you do? Obviously, Hooch has a long road ahead of him with veterinary bills and regular care expenses. Please donate if you can. If you can’t please share Hooch’s story with those who maybe can.
Photo of Hooch to be added when our site stops misbehaving!
I actually stumbled onto Hooch’s story when I was looking for something else. What I intended to write about tonight is Marley’s Mutts’ sweet success story of Eve and Dillon, recently shown on ABC News.
This shelter must be a truly blessed place, to have taken in three such sweet, but needy, dogs. Warms my heart to see the good that they’re doing.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
