Bark for Life

"What do you mean you don't want to go for a walk?"
“What do you mean you don’t want to go for a walk?”
You’ve likely heard of Relay for Life, a program where teams of runners raise money for those with cancer, but this is the first I’ve heard of dogs getting involved. Cincinnati.com is announcing the 2nd Annual Bark for Life event, to be held April 26th, 10 am – noon, at Ault Park.

In the Bark for Life version, people walk a one-half mile course with their dogs to honor cancer caregivers and raise awareness of the disease.

In addition to the non-competitive walk, there will also be a K-9 demo from the Cincinnati Police Department and several dog-related contests such as loudest bark, best trick, etc.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Cincinnati this weekend, you can register for the event. If you can’t go, please donate to the cause.

All funds raised go to the American Cancer Society. Last year, 150 dogs raised $12,000!

Sounds like a good time will be had by all. Makes me wish I hadn’t just spent a weekend in the Queen City – I’d love to see this.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
