First of all, I have to say there is absolutely no science or politics behind my selections. I mostly pick dogs whose names I like from my favorite breed(s) within each group. That said, here’s who I like to win this year’s Westminster prizes. All of the photos come from the breeders’ websites.
***Please note: This has been updated as of 2/16 at 9:15 am – some of the dogs I picked originally did not come to the big show! I had to change to dogs that appear in the official list when I got on-site.***
From the Sporting Group: Tamaron’s Tag You’re It. Of course he’s a Vizsla, what else would I pick?
From the Hound Group: From New Jersey Beagles, Lanbur Too Cool for School, who goes by Coolio. Again – no surprise on the breed here.
From the Working Group: Catera’s Keepin’ It World Class (a/k/a Ferrari)
From the Terrier Group: King’s Mtn. Angelina Ballerina, a Dandie Dinmont. She’s called Angie for short.
From the Toy Group: A nod to my sister’s recently deceased Japanese Chin: Chin of Touche’s Bravado.
From the Non-Sporting Group: A Shiba Inu, named Tengai’s Life’s A Beach, who goes by Maggie.
From the Herding Group: Sylvan Argent Power Surge, better known as Matthew.
As far as Best in Show, I think I’ll take the Collie, Power Surge – because it is FREEZING here and we definitely need a surge of power to run the heaters!
Good luck to all of the entries in this year’s show. I can’t wait to get this party started!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
