I have a friend who is terrified of alligators. I guess I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about them because just about the only gators in Northeast Ohio are the ones in zoos. After seeing this clip from NBC News, though, I gotta admit I see her point.
Described as a “neighborhood dog”, which I take to mean stray, Mavis went for a walk in Mobile, Alabama, and ended up at the boat launch in Arlington Park. A huge alligator apparently jumped out of the water and ate the 100-pound dog in one big gulp!
Scary! It seems to me the city should be posting signs. As the video above shows, people are taking small children to the exact same spot where Mavis was taken.
