Ridgefield, Connecticut said goodbye yesterday to Police K-9 Zeus, who had to be put down due to a degenerative hip disorder. No one has said as much, but I’m assuming hip dysplasia. Before he was euthanized, officers drove him in a squad car to the vet’s office, and the town turned out to say goodbye.
ABC affiliate WTNH News 8 posted the video showing the parking lot ceremony honoring Zeus, as well as the black-draped police station with the flag flown at half-staff to honor the dog’s years of service.
Rest easy, Zeus. Thank you for your service. Our condolences to the family with whom Zeus lived, as well as to the police department and community of Ridgefield on your loss.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
