Look no further! Dogs from the Transportation Security Administration are looking for their retirement homes.
The dogs are generally between two and ten years old, and are already spayed or neutered. They are currently located in San Antonio, Texas, and you would have to pay to transport the dog to your home.
These dogs have spent a good deal of time in kennels, so you will have to work to socialize the dog as a family companion, although many of these dogs do live with their handlers in their off-duty hours.
To start the process, send an email to [email protected]. You’ll be given an application to complete, then (if you meet the requirements) you’ll be sent information and pictures about available dogs. Once matched to a particular dog, you have to get an indemnity letter signed and notarized to release the TSA from any liability resulting from your taking the dog in.
Breeds include German Short-Haired Pointers, Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds, and Belgian Malinois.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
