From the Facebook page of The Beat of Montreal: A big giant shout out to Canadian North Air and West Jet for letting people bring their pets on board who are trying to flee their homes in Fort McMurrray to get to family in other cities.!!!!!
More than 80,000 people had to flee their homes in front of this out-of-control fire, and some were lucky enough to have time to grab their pets before they left. However, few had time to grab crates which would have allowed them to fly their pets in the usual way. Kudos to the airlines for bending the rules to allow the animals to fly coach.
