From the Dothan Eagle: Firefighters in Daleville, Alabama were called to a residential fire at about 2:00 am Tuesday morning; they arrived to find the roof fully engulfed.
The home belonged to an elderly woman named Jane Clancy, owner of All Breeds Animal Rescue and Adoption, a no-kill, mandatory spay rescue organization.
Ms. Clancy tried to save as many animals as possible from the blaze, but perished in the fire alongside 20 dogs and an untold number of cats and ducks.
The shelter had an active Facebook page, but it has not yet been updated to show what their most significant needs are following the fire.
Our sympathies to all those who have lost so much in this fire.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
