After recently discovering that my Beagle, Penny, is allergic to beef, I’ve taken her off all commercial foods, but I’ve felt bad because I don’t have any treats to give her. Then I stumbled across this recipe from a blog named Spaceships and Laser Beams:
Ingredients
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1 tablespoon molasses
1 cup of milk
2 cups of whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon of baking powder
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Combine ingredients in mixer on low until well blended
Put dough between two sheets parchment paper
Roll to approximately 1/4 inch in thickness
Use cookie cutter (or glass) to cut out biscuits
Bake for approx 17 minutes
Makes about 40 treats, depending on size. When cooled, store the cookies in an airtight container. They will keep well for two months in the refrigerator and up to eight months in the freezer.
Going to try them out this weekend – I’ll let you know what my judge thinks!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
