Penny is an “enthusiastic” eater, but this bowl has not budged. I have the bottom filled with water, but you could use sand, and the extra weight keeps it in place. The top part, where you put the food, is easily removable for washing and is dishwasher safe.
I never have trouble with the water bowl moving, but I know some dogs paw at the water dish until it turns over. Theoretically, this weighted dish would prevent that, as well. I had no way to test it.
This isn’t the “prettiest” stay-put dish on the market, but it’s a definite keeper! My only worry would be with small dogs, it may be too high up. Penny is a 13″ Beagle, and that’s about the minimum height required for comfortable eating, I would think. For taller dogs, especially those who require a raised bowl due to bloat concerns, this would be ideal.
