Shout out to Paws of War, an organization dedicated to training and placing shelter dogs to serve and provide independence to our U.S. military veterans that suffer from the emotional effects of war. In turn, each veteran can experience the therapeutic and unconditional love only a companion animal can bring. Their programs include:
War Torn Pups, which provides financial support to reunite military personnel with the stray animals they found and bonded with while at war or in war zones.
Vets2Vets, a mobile animal clinic.
PTSD Service Dogs. A service dog helps combat the daily symptoms of PTSD. Service dogs are trained to pick up stress signals and intervene with the owner to shift the focus back to a positive environment. A companion offers those suffering from PTSD a new outlook on life and sets up responsibilities that make daily activities easier to accomplish.
TBI Service Dogs. A service dog can greatly increase the quality of life for someone suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury, also known as TBI. The symptoms of traumatic brain injury can take over a veteran or first responders life.
Paws of War does great work. Please support them if you can.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
