The AKC Meet the Breeds event was held this past weekend in New York City. Here are my top ten picks of the pictures provided to the press by the AKC. In a change this year (to accommodate the big crowds), the event was held separately from the Westminster Show.
Many of the booths are elaborately decorated, and a prize is given to the best booth from each breed group (Hounds,
Terriers, etc)
Some of the owner/handlers really get into it, dressing up to represent something about their breed or just to have fun and draw attention to the booth.
Even the dogs get into the spirit!
You can get up close and personal, to learn more about your favorite breeds.
There are demonstrations, showing dogs in action including this police K-9.
And this year…CATS!
If you’re a dog lover (and I know you are) you should make plans to go to this event at least once in your lifetime. It’s so much fun! I so wish I could have gone this year.
