If you follow along regularly on this blog, you know one of my favorite companies is Dog Tag Art. (Disclosure: I have no relationship with them, other than as a customer.)
They make really cute tags for your pets, but best of all, the tags are super-durable. I’ve never had to replace a tag I bought from them, except when I moved. I believe random people submit design ideas, but I’m not sure if they make anything off of each sale.
Pictured is the one I just bought for Checkers – kind of a welcome home gift.
Why do you need tags if your dog is chipped? Every time one of my dogs has run away, she has been brought home by a passerby or neighbor, who has simply checked the tags to find my address or has called the number on the tag for me to come pick up the dog. Tags that anyone can read mean the dog needn’t be taken to a vet or shelter to be scanned for a chip. They really simplify the process of getting your dog home safely and as soon as possible.
Take a look at your dog’s tags today. Are they faded or illegible? Or even just plain and boring? You might want to get new ones, and I highly recommend you check out Dog Tag Art.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
