If you live in Germany, you will soon be required by law to walk your dog at least twice a day, for a total of one hour. Although the law is aimed at kennel owners, forcing them to treat their breeding dogs more humanely, the law as currently written would apply to home dog families, as well.
Although I support the idea behind the law, I guess I would have to be arrested, then. I’m terrible at walking the dog. I tell myself my big back yard is adequate for them, but judge me if you must.
The new law also includes provisions that prevent tying a dog outside for long periods of time and prohibit kennels from caring for more than three litters at once.
All noble efforts, to be sure.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
