This upcoming September will mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11. To commemorate, the AKC and Museum of the Dog want to take time to honor the search and rescue dogs that participated in the rescue and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the attacks.
The AKC and Museum of the Dog is asking participants to create a painting that captures the heroism of the search and rescue dogs. Everyone is encouraged to participate, no matter your artistic ability. The top five’s art will be on display on the walls of the third floor of the museum as part of the new exhibit, 9/11 Remembered: Search & Rescue Dogs, opening in September. The winner of the contest will receive a cash prize and their art will be available for purchase at the museum gift shop. All art mediums accepted.
