Good news! There were no dogs available for adoption in the whole province of Newfoundland! So, we’re skipping over them and moving on to North Carolina today.
Meet Lacy! This beautiful girl is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed. Here’s what her rescuers have to say about her:
Lacey is a lab retriever/plott hound mix and Is one year old. She was at a County Animal Shelter that was at full capacity and was at risk of being euthanized. She was found as a stray and her owners never came to get her so we pulled her and brought her in to rescue. Lacey is currently in a foster home with other dogs and is dog and child friendly. She is a very loving dog. She puts her head in your lap and wants to be loved. She is very smart and already knows sit as well and has only been in her foster home for a short time. She still has lots of puppy energy!
She does well with other dogs but if in a home with another dog, she is very active so keep that in mind. She would need another active dog and not a couch potato dog. She has separation anxiety at this time and does not crate well. She would benefit from being with someone that is not gone long hours or with a family where someone is home and can also take her on vacations with them.
We do not know what Lacy has been through in her short life but for some reason she is scared to be left alone and the crate terrified her. She sleeps on a dog bed beside her fosters bed at night and does very well at night but you cannot crate her. She gets carsick and drools a lot which is what she does in the crate as well but please do not let car sickness and not being crate trained decide against her. A lot of dogs get carsick. You can use dramamine on dogs or you can get a prescription from your vet. We will be glad to get something for her so the adopter will have it when they adopt and we will make sure she is medicated before her new family picks her up on her adoption day. She is getting more comfortable as each day passes but will need someone that will be patient with her in the beginning and give her the love she deserves.
Lacy is currently a guest of Faith, Hope, and Love Animal Rescue in Sophia, North Carolina. If you’re lucky enough to be nearby, please contact the rescue to learn more about Lacy and all of her friends. Until next time,
Good day and good dog!
