July 15th is National Pet Fire Safety Day

fire_safety_day

To help reduce the estimated 500,000 pets affected by home fires each year, The American Kennel Club and ADT Security Services announce “National Pet Fire Safety Day.” This nationwide awareness day educates pet owners about potential risks when pets are left home alone and provides them with proven prevention measures to ensure their safety.

According to a recent AKC study, 88 percent of pet owners consider their pets to be valued family members so it makes sense to include them in fire prevention plans and rescue alerts should a house fire strike. As part of National Pet Fire Safety Day, AKC and ADT have developed helpful prevention, escape and rescue tips for pet owners. Continue reading July 15th is National Pet Fire Safety Day

Shelter Sunday: Buddy / Loving Paws Adoption Center / Crocker, MO

Buddy MOMeet Buddy! This senior gentleman is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix who is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations. Here’s what his rescuers have to say about him>

Sweet Buddy spent the first years of his life tied outside 24/7 and was finally given to a neighbor when the people moved. His rescuer took him in and found him an awesome home where he lived in luxury till his owner passed away. He is now back with his rescuer and looking for a home to spend his last days again and comfort with lots of love. Buddy is truly one of the sweetest and funniest dogs! He loves car rides, his walks, absolutely loves bully sticks and bones.
He gets a burst of energy and let’s you know when he is ready to have some fun. He jumps and spins around with a little howling, it makes you giggle. He loves everyone, all sizes and ages. He has been with different dogs and cats, but seems to be dog selective especially toward larger dogs.

Buddy is currently a guest of Loving Paws Adoption Center in Crocker, Missouri. If you’re lucky enough to be nearby, please contact Loving Paws to learn more about Buddy and all of his friends.
