Iditarod 2020: Standings as of 3/13 @ 12:45 PM Alaska Time

And they’re into Ruby! The top five mushers entered Ruby checkpoint, as follows:

Jessie Royer @ 6:37
Thomas Waerner @ 7:13
Aaron Burmeister @ 7:14
Brent Sass @ 7:50
Richie Diehl @ 8:44

Royer left the checkpoint at 11:35 this morning; the rest are still there. All five have completed their 24-hour rest period, but not the 8-hour.

Weather at Ruby: 14F and sunny.

The top five mushers have all reached Cripple checkpoint, with the top two already leaving. The top two have also completed their 24-hour rest periods. It appears the other three are in the middle of their 24-hour rest.

1st place: Jessie Royer, left Cripple @ 16:07
2nd place: Aaron Burmeister, left Cripple @ 17:29
3rd place: Brent Sass, IN to Cripple last night @ 21:54
4th place: Michelle Phillips, IN to Cripple early this morning @ 00:50
5th place: Lance Mackey, IN to Cripple just after Phillips, @ 00:58

Current temperature in Cripple is -6F with a strong breeze projected for tomorrow.

The ceremonial start of the grandaddy of them all, the Iditarod Sled Dog Trail Race, begins in under 17 hours! This start from Anchorage, Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 2 pm Eastern / 10 am Alaska, gives the public a great chance to be part of the excitement and to see the dogs up close and personal, before the actual race starts on Sunday at Willow.
