So this had me laughing today. How would your dogs handle all of this attention from two-leggers?
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

I just love watching Animal Planet while I wait for the Super Bowl to start. I knew the 11th Annual Puppy Bowl would be on this afternoon, but I was flipping through channels this morning and came upon another show that I hope will be an annual competition for them.
The show was called America’s Cutest Dogs, and it was a compilation of cute dog videos from the Internet. My favorite one is shown here, but it didn’t even place among the finalists.

I can’t imagine how they kept the dogs from all running onto the court after every ball!

I posted a couple of times this week about the importance of playing with your dog. One of the articles I read said some people play with their dogs as many as six times a day. I’m not sure what they are defining as a play session – or how long each one lasts, but I think six times a day sounds like a lot. (Maybe that’s because I have four dogs!) How about you – how many times a day do you stop what you’re doing and play with your dog?

From the Brimfield PD Facebook page (if you haven’t “liked” it yet, you should!): About eight years ago, our department was very fortunate to welcome K-9 Joker into our ranks. Today is K-9 Joker’s birthday! He is now retired and at home, likely barking at squirrels and joggers.
K-9 Joker served the Brimfield Police Department for seven years, assigned to (now) Captain Adkins. Joker had an awesome nose and excelled at finding drugs, tracking and evidence recovery. He once tracked a drunken driver over pavement, through woods and swamp and directly to the back door of the fella’s house. He is a hoot to be around and had one heck of a work ethic. He was responsible for removing countless drugs from the streets.
He is now enjoying retirement and still lives with his police partner, Captain Adkins. Captain Adkins is not retired, much to his regret when subjected to my daily shenanigans.
Happy Birthday to K-9 Joker. We miss working with you. I truly miss the slobber all over my desk, phone, computer, pants, boots and chairs…..
Although my stash of stuffed animals is much safer now…..Chief Oliver.

I’m spending the week with my mother, and we went for ice cream tonight. Naturally, I managed to make some new friends out in front of the United Dairy Farmers store. Molly was a little shy and wouldn’t come to the window, but Jasmine was ready & willing to have her photo taken! Isn’t she beautiful?

One of my best friends from high school recently shared pictures of his new dog. This is Dominic, a former racing dog from Tijuana. Congrats to both Nick and Dominic – a match I’m sure was made in heaven!
On another topic, those of you who follow us daily have no doubt noticed there hasn’t been much to see on the doggies.com blog lately. We appreciate your patience as we worked through some technical issues. I’m told all is well now, and we’ll just pick up where we left off.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
