Have you seen the Traveler’s Insurance commercial where the dog tries to put his bone in a safety deposit box at the bank, then can’t sleep because he’s worried about it? How about the one for Denta-Stix that shows the dogs with doggie dentures? These are two of my favorites, which prompted me to do some research on commercials with doggie stars.
According to LePaws, a Hollywood talent agency that represents animal actors, one of every three television commercials features a dog.
I tried to find commercials that weren’t specifically for dog-related products, although the Denta-Stix one was too cute not to include in my top ten.
This looks just too cute! Tune in to Animal Planet today at 3 pm Eastern for the Puppy Bowl – a prelude to the Super Bowl. Wonder if they’ll have awesome commercials, too?

If you haven’t heard, the movie Marmaduke is due out in theaters June 4th. USA Today and 20th Century Fox are co-sponsoring a contest that could allow your dog to appear at the end of the movie.
One of the themes of the movie is that Marmaduke must learn how to surf, so the contest is looking for dogs who have faced and conquered great challenges.
To enter: submit a one-minute action video of your dog at work or at play via the newspaper’s Paw Print Post, which also has detailed rules for the contest.
