Humane Society Rescues Over 160 Neglected Animals in Southern Ohio

WARNING! Graphic content! (Footage courtesy Humane Society of the United States)

First of all, let me apologize. I rarely run videos that need a warning, and I’ve done it twice this week, of all weeks. I’m sorry. However, this is an important story and maybe counteracts a little of the horror brought by yesterday’s news from Arkansas.

The Humane Society of the United States announced earlier this month that they had participated in a raid in Adams County, Ohio that resulted in the rescue of more than 160 animals suffering from severe neglect.

The animal hoarder who was keeping these dogs also had many carcasses on the property. The video shows how relieved the dogs were to be leaving, but the scenes are heartbreaking.

Kudos to all who participated in this rescue.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

57 Arkansas Dogs Poisoned, Then Shot

WARNING! Graphic Content!
The audio on this clip isn’t very good, and the original video is not sharable, but you can see the whole thing here, if you can bear it.

A reporter from the Associated Press has put together a report from Searcy County, Arkansas (about 100 miles north of Little Rock). Apparently, over 5o dogs were fed hot dogs laced with poison, then summarily executed. Some of the bodies were found late Thursday night by loggers prospecting for timber land. They had a contact at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, who then contacted the Humane Society.

Canine Lives Matter

What an absolutely horrific story! If you can bear to read the whole thing, you can find it on Raw Story. To say things don’t add up here would be an understatement.

This is serving and protecting?

The chief has since resigned, and I’m thinking it might be a great idea to stick him in a cage and put him out in the middle of the firing range for a while.

Sending our condolences to the Womack family on the loss of their beloved dog, Chase.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

I’ve had so much other stuff to tell you about over the past few weeks, I haven’t been able to share much of what’s going on in the dog news world lately. Without further delay, here’s a roundup of all the news that’s fit to print.

West Valley (AZ) Puppy Mill Bust
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office recently rescued as many as 130 Pugs and French Bulldogs from a puppy mill operation in Tonopah. They received an anonymous tip about conditions in the home and asked the homeowners to take care of the situation. When nothing was done, deputies returned and took control of the dogs without incident. The owners now face animal neglect charges.

According to ABC15, the dogs are available for adoption. For more information or to adopt one of these dogs call 602-876-1212 or email [email protected]. Continue reading Wednesday’s Wacky World of Dog News
