June is Pride Month, when we celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends and family. I love this picture from Free Mom Hugs Ohio.
For those who don’t know, many people are shunned by their families when they reveal their sexual orientation or gender identity. Free Mom Hugs goes to Pride parades and other events to give some love to those who have been separated from their birth parents. It’s a great organization!
My cats have the run of the house, but I’ve set up a safe space for them in the mother-in-law suite because sometimes the dogs like to chase them. Rosie does not approve.
I was just lamenting the fact that I can never get a good picture of all three of my dogs together, and my son takes this with no preparation or any special lighting or even any dog treats! Continue reading On The Homefront→
I don’t know whose dogs these are, nor who the photographer is, but I really wish my dogs were this cooperative when I try to take their pictures! I can never get all three of them paying attention at the same time, much less doing synchronized expressions.
If you are the photographer, please let us know – I’d love to publicize your brand here on the blog!
So look who came to live at my house this weekend! This is Checkers! She belonged to a breeder in West Virginia, but turned out to have demodectic mange, which is hereditary, meaning she couldn’t be shown. The breeder thought she’d have an awful time finding a home for Checkers as “just” a pet, but it turns out we have a mutual friend who hooked us up.
She’s a 1-year old Treeing Walker Coonhound, and you know how I feel about hounds! I’m in love already.
Welcome to the crazy house, Checkers!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
