Remember during the build-up to the Westminster show, I posted a story about Maverick, a beautiful Weimaraner who had been rescued from a less-than-caring owner and would be competing at Westminster? He now has his own Facebook page. Check it out!
More on the boneheaded decision Romney made several years ago to transport his dog to Canada in a car-top carrier. And, dog-related stuff you can buy from the Obama campaign website.
Here are the seven candidates for Best in Show tonight (all photos courtesy Westminster Kennel Club)
From the Hound Group: Wire-haired Dachshund Cinders
From the Toy Group: Pekingese Malachy
From the Non-sporting Group: Dalmatian Ian
From the Herding Group: German Shepherd Dog Cappy
From the Sporting Group: Irish Setter Emily
From the Working Group: Doberman Fifi
From the Terrier Group: Kerry Blue Terrier Chelsey
My pick: I think I’ll have to go with the Dobie. The next most likely, in my opinion, is the Peke.
“Wizard of Odds” Johnny Avello has updated his odds chart for your entertainment while viewing the show tonight. This new chart has the Pekingese in the lead at 6 – 1 odds, followed by the Black Cocker at 7 – 1, and the Wire Fox Terrier at 8 – 1.
See if he does any better than I did at picking winners, tonight on USA Network from 8 – 11 pm.
