I know some people get upset at this kind of grooming – I think they’ve decided it’s exploitative, but I think it’s fun, and the dogs don’t appear to mind. They are definitely prancing around, all proud of their ‘dos. At least in this video.

Do you struggle to keep your dog – and at least some of the water – inside the tub when it’s bath time? File this under the best dog hack I’ve seen in a long time.
Smear dog-safe peanut butter on the wall around your bath tub. Your dog will be so busy licking it off, he or she may not even notice the water running. This video is a bit more in-depth than just the peanut butter, and shows a VERY well-behaved dog, but it does illustrate the principle.

Poor Penny – she tangled with a skunk under my deck last night.
I’ve done one bath in Dawn (to cut the greasy skunk spray) and baking soda. It helped, but I believe my next step is apple cider vinegar mixed with water. If that doesn’t work, I’ve heard vanilla extract mixed with water can be helpful.
Ugh. She’s not happy. Mom’s not happy. Son’s not happy.
On the bright side, I did catch her before she rolled on any couches or beds to try to get rid of the smell.
