Saturday Survey: No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Remember the man who wanted to get his dog out of the shelter, but couldn’t afford to do so? By the time funds were raised to take care of the fine and shelter fee, the man was nowhere to be found.
This story was big on Facebook. So big, in fact, that I wasn’t even sure it was a true story.

However, as this news piece shows, not only was it true, it also had a happy ending! The man and his dog, Buzz Lightyear, were recently reunited through the kindness of strangers.

The bad news came a day or so later, when the dog’s owner began berating the Good Samaritan to release the rest of the donated money directly to him. She is unwilling to do so because she feels he will spend it not on the dog but on his alleged drug habit. So, now he is threatening to sue her.

So, here’s our Saturday Survey: what should be done with the money?
