Shelter Sunday: Nikko / First State Animal Shelter and SPCA / Camden, DE

Nikko DE

Meet Nikko! This handsome fellow is house-trained and prefers a home without other dogs or cats. Here’s what his rescuers have to say about him:

If you are looking for a wonderful companion come meet Nikko. He is a very vocal dog like all Siberian Huskies. Owning a Husky is big responsibility and shouldn’t be taken lightly. He needs to go to a home that is familiar with his breed and can handle his strong mind. Nikko loves belly rubs and is a very friendly boy. Nikko was adopted, but unfortunately his previous owner was not the most responsible. He was brought to animal control and thank goodness he found his way back to us in order to help him find a new stable and loving home.

Nikko is currently a guest at First State Animal Shelter and SPCA in Camden, Delaware. If you’re lucky enough to be nearby, why not contact the shelter to learn more about Nikko and all of his friends. You can email [email protected] or call (302) 943-6032.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

The Feel Good Page

I’m kind of new to Twitter, having turned there for my social media after my Facebook account was irretrievably hacked, so I apologize if I’m telling you something you already know.

If you use Twitter, you need to check out The Feel Good Page (@akkitwts). Every day, there are videos of animals (and sometimes people) that will just make you feel better about the world. I don’t know how to embed tweeted videos here, so I’ll have to just post a link to my favorite one so far, captioned “work smarter, not harder.”

After you watch the video, be sure to follow the page.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

Shelter Sunday: Daisy / Dog Star Rescue / Bloomfield, CT

Daisy CT

Meet Daisy! This senior citizen prefers a home without young children. Here’s what her rescuers have to say about her: If you can imagine yourself with a sweet and loving canine companion, Daisy is a dog for you. Our Miss Daisy is a Fox Hound mix, around 7 years old and weighing approximately 75 pounds. She is a big girl but also has a big heart with a capacity to bring joy to her loved ones. Her sweetness is undeniable and she is sure to be on your best friends list.

Our Daisy is not a girl that likes to live in the fast lane. For her, it is slow and easy with her low energy level. She’d much rather be a spectator in life and watch from the side lines. Daisy is not a stranger to enjoying the outdoors as she enjoys going for hikes and is even a fan of snow. After a day of exploring, Daisy looks forward to resting her head and taking a well deserved nap. She gets along well with other dogs and adults but would do best in a house with older children around the age of 16 or older. She has not had the opportunity to be introduced to a cat. Saturday Survey: Favorite AKC Show Group

I always take an interest in who checks out my posts, and when I post about dog shows, there’s usually a huge following, but some of the groups do better than others. I will share with you on Sunday how many people looked at each group winner post from Thanksgiving’s National Dog Show, but for today, please tell me which group is your favorite. (I’ve not made it a secret that I love those hounds! But I will admit my absolute favorite breed is the Vizsla, from the sporting group.)
