Happy Thanksgiving Canada!
A big shout out to our Canadian readers as they celebrate Thanksgiving today. Thanks for coming along with us on this blog journey.
A short history lesson for the American readers: The Canadians actually celebrated the first Thanksgiving celebration in North America in 1578 – a full 43 years before the Pilgrims celebrated at the Plymouth Rock colony in 1621. The Canadian celebration happened when explorer Martin Frobisher returned to Canada after his 3rd try at finding the Northwest Passage.
Canadians: Please eat a BIG piece of apple pie for me! (And remember to keep your dog away from the turkey carcass – the bones can splinter and cut your dog’s throat and intestines.)

Parker the Lab goes from frying pan to fire
Parker the dog made big news in Ontario, Canada yesterday when he was rescued from inside an SUV on a day when temperatures climbed into the ’90s (that’s 33C for those of you reading this in Canada).

When is a dog park a bad idea?
From Toronto: Dogs who have recently visited High Park are getting sick at an alarming rate. At least two have died, and police have found a mixture of bread, flax seed, and a toxic liquid about five minutes’ walk from Dog Hill.
