Minnesota’s “Jughead” Rescued
What do you do when you see a dog running around for 3 weeks with his head trapped in a plastic jug? If you’re Katherine and Don Nelson, you keep tracking him until you can catch him and remove the jug. Oh, and you name him Jughead, of course.

Rescue Video: Dog Stranded on Lake Erie Ice
Video from Cleveland NBC affiliate WKYC, showing the dog safe at home. The TV station actually played a pivotal role in organizing Kimberly’s rescue.
Apparently the family had to put down their other dog about a week before Kimberly went missing, so it’s been a challenging month for them.
Scroll down for the dramatic rescue video.

Shelter Sunday: Toto
A little different post this Sunday, rather than my usual shelter feature. This cute dog was rescued from the mean streets by Hope for Paws. The ending is so sweet!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
Saturday Survey: Dogs rescued from puppy mills
I posted an amazing video earlier in the week about the fabulous work the ASPCA is doing to rehabilitate adult dogs rescued from puppy mills. It’s clear that the dogs can be rehabilitated; however, it’s also clear it takes a ton of patience and hard work to help the dog recover. Would you have that much love in your heart to take on one of these dogs?

Recovery of a Puppy Mill Dog
This amazing video shows how a dog was rehabilitated after being rescued from a puppy mill. The YouTube caption reads: Trapped in a puppy mill, Coconut the dog had never known love—until she was rescued by the ASPCA. Watch a video of her incredible transformation and recovery, and find out how you can help save more dogs from a life of fear, pain and neglect.
Never underestimate the power of love, patience, and consistency.
I promise – no sad eyes looking out from a cage or spooky sad music.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
Rescue Video: A mom and two pups
I always like to share Hope for Paws videos because Eldad Hagar is so patient when he captures these strays. (Warning: don’t watch this one with the sound turned up if your dogs are in the room. My dogs were VERY concerned when the mama dog started whining.)
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
He ain’t heavy…he’s my brother
One of “41 Incredibly Powerful Photos That Capture the Human Condition”. The caption is this: A boy carries his dog through floodwaters in Paranaque city, metro Manila, Philippines, on August 20, 2013.
The exhibit, although not about dogs, is worth checking out – click on the link above. It gave me chills.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
Another heartbreaker from Eldad Hagar and Hope for Paws
I think this one pretty much speaks for itself. Eldad Hagar has been doing this for a long time and really makes a difference to so many animals. If you can, make a small donation to Hope For Paws.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
