In a recent survey, dogs of various breeds were asked about changing lightbulbs. The results were hermetically sealed inside a mayonnaise jar on Funk & Wagnall’s back porch, but this intrepid reporter has gained access. The dogs’ answers, shown below, may or may not surprise you. Dog Tags as Art?
Have you checked out the new site selling dog tags? DogTagArt takes works of art and makes them into tags for your dog. You can get three very clear lines of text, allowing you to put your dog’s name, as well as two phone numbers, or an address & phone number. And the best part is that they are really cool – looking!
Saturday Survey: Taking Your Dog to Public Events
As I’ve said in my past 2 posts, I am working this week at a public festival centered around the induction of new Professional Football Hall of Fame enshrinees. It got me to wondering about people taking their dogs to outdoor festivals and events. What’s your stand?

Police Officers and Their Dogs
While working at this week’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Ribs Burnoff (say that 3 times fast!), I got into a conversation with two of Canton’s finest regarding their dogs. No, these weren’t K-9 officers, but I think we sometimes forget that public officials have personal lives, just like we do.
Dog/cat picture caption contest
I received word that People magazine is holding a caption contest with this picture.
If you have a funny caption to describe what these two animals are discussing, simply go to the People Web site, create an account and enter your caption. They also give you the opportunity to upload your own pet photos for future contests.
Make sure you comment here and tell us what you sent in so we can all enjoy a laugh! My entry: “Mom! He’s looking at me!”
Rob Worrall – I especially want to see your entry!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
Native Irish Dogs
No, I’m not talking about dogs who wear green bandannas on St. Pat’s Day. I’m talking about Irish Setters, Soft Coated Wheatens, and their brethren from Ireland. In Cleveland this weekend, one of the big events is the Irish Cultural Festival.
Survey: Is your dog a good hunter?
We all know that some dogs were bred to hunt while others were bred to look cute poking their head out of your carry-all. Which one is yours?
Rapid Bath: The Quickest Way to Bathe Your Dog?
At the risk of starting another Potty Patch debacle, I have to ask if anyone has tried the bathing system called Rapid Bath they are now showing on TV. The company claims you can now bathe your dog in 3 minutes because the spray head allows you to wet your dog at the same time you are applying the shampoo. Then, you switch off the shampoo dispenser and rinse the dog with clear water through the same spray head.
I haven’t tried it, but it seems like it would be a good time-saver, especially in homes like mine with multiple dogs. I usually take my dogs in the shower with me so they can’t escape through the glass doors, but I do have trouble getting the shampoo on their undercarriages, so I wonder if this product wouldn’t help with that as well.
Have you tried the product? Is it easy to use? Does it scare your dog? Is it worth the price ($49.95)? Inquiring minds want to know!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

I got this as an e-mail, and am posting it because I think it is such a clever way to approach adoption ads!
