I was lucky enough to sit across the aisle from this cutie on my trip to Florida Friday! There were actually THREE dogs on my flight. It seems there has been an explosion in the number of service dogs / emotional support dogs lately.
I wish I could have brought my Rosie. She’s too young to leave unsupervised with just visits from a caregiver, so I had to kennel her while we’re gone. I feel badly that she’s in a cage for 10 days, but I know she is being well cared for.
On our last day in Arizona, we went to the Grand Canyon (below). Truly a wonder, if you’ve never seen it. Then, we boarded our plane for home. We didn’t know until we landed that this little fella (sorry – can’t remember the name) had flown in the bin above our heads. He never made a sound on the whole 4-hour flight!
Thanks for allowing me to share my trip with you through pictures!
We reported earlier this week about poor Hendrix, who was flown from Staten Island to Phoenix…by way of Ireland! The airline got him reunited with his owner safely in the end, but I’m sure there was quite a bit of angst during the detour. Would you ever fly your dog somewhere on a flight you weren’t on?

Check out this video from NBC News about the Pilots-N-Paws organization. It’s worth watching (if for no other reason) to see the adorable puppies!
Pilots-N-Paws picks up dogs from shelters where they would be killed and flies them in small private planes to more urban areas where people are looking for animals to adopt.
What a great show of cooperation to keep these dogs from being euthanized!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
