Pearsall The U.S. military is trying harder to reunite soldiers with their four-legged battlefield companions, both as a way to readjust service personnel to home life and to get the dogs out of harm’s way. (Associated Press – via Washington Times)As part of the defense spending bill signed by President Obama last month, the military is now required to bring retiring K-9s back to the United States at the end of their service. Prior to this important change, if a dog was retired overseas, he or she was simply left in the last country where service was rendered.
