Meet Alice! This 1-year old Bulldog mix prefers a home without cats or small children. Here’s what her rescuers have to say about her:
Alice is a sweet tripod hoping to find her forever home. She is very friendly and loving, especially during bath time! She is pretty mellow, and can’t walk super long distances. She is picky about her dog friends (and wouldn’t do well with cats), but loves people, especially men. She loves car rides and snuggles and doesn’t mark much. Can you find some room in your home and heart for this special lady? Alice would prefer to find a home with children over 10 years old.
Alice is currently a guest of K-9 Lifesavers in Washington, DC. If you’re lucky enough to be near our nation’s capitol, why not contact K-9 Lifesavers to find out more about Alice and all of her friends. You can e-mail [email protected] or call (202) 263-1990 or fill out an adoption application.
Meet Nikko! This handsome fellow is house-trained and prefers a home without other dogs or cats. Here’s what his rescuers have to say about him:
If you are looking for a wonderful companion come meet Nikko. He is a very vocal dog like all Siberian Huskies. Owning a Husky is big responsibility and shouldn’t be taken lightly. He needs to go to a home that is familiar with his breed and can handle his strong mind. Nikko loves belly rubs and is a very friendly boy. Nikko was adopted, but unfortunately his previous owner was not the most responsible. He was brought to animal control and thank goodness he found his way back to us in order to help him find a new stable and loving home.
Nikko is currently a guest at First State Animal Shelter and SPCA in Camden, Delaware. If you’re lucky enough to be nearby, why not contact the shelter to learn more about Nikko and all of his friends. You can email [email protected] or call (302) 943-6032.
Meet Daisy! This senior citizen prefers a home without young children. Here’s what her rescuers have to say about her: If you can imagine yourself with a sweet and loving canine companion, Daisy is a dog for you. Our Miss Daisy is a Fox Hound mix, around 7 years old and weighing approximately 75 pounds. She is a big girl but also has a big heart with a capacity to bring joy to her loved ones. Her sweetness is undeniable and she is sure to be on your best friends list.
Our Daisy is not a girl that likes to live in the fast lane. For her, it is slow and easy with her low energy level. She’d much rather be a spectator in life and watch from the side lines. Daisy is not a stranger to enjoying the outdoors as she enjoys going for hikes and is even a fan of snow. After a day of exploring, Daisy looks forward to resting her head and taking a well deserved nap. She gets along well with other dogs and adults but would do best in a house with older children around the age of 16 or older. She has not had the opportunity to be introduced to a cat. Meet Chuck! This handsome fella is house-trained, good with other dogs, and up to date on shots. Here’s what he has to say for himself:
Hi! I’m Chuck, a 4-year old male lab or hound or dane mix. I was found on the streets with a horrible fungal infection more commonly found in Shar Pei dogs. I’m not convinced I have Shar Pei blood in me, because, look at me! I’m about 58 lbs and could still use a bit more meat on my bones. Meet Yara! This Australian Cattle Dog mix is a beauty. Here’s what her rescuers have to say about her: This beautiful girl is a sweetheart and will love you unconditionally! She absolutely adores people, is good with kids and is looking for an understanding family to make her own. Yara is a 45lbs Australian cattle dog, spayed, housetrained and estimated to be 2 years old.
She is almost completely deaf. She does respond well to visual cues, so with training, her lack of hearing could be easily managed. A home where she can be the center of attention would be ideal! She does like playing with well matched dogs, so one 4-legged companion might work (she can get overwhelmed around too many dogs and get defensive). She has no known history with cats, but is probably best suited to a home with no small animals. Continue reading Shelter Sunday: Yara / Island Pacific Dog Rescue Society / Qualicum Beach, BC→
Meet Baby Blue! Here’s what her rescuers have to say about this Husky / Shepherd mix:
Baby Blue was born after a pregnant dog was dumped in a rural part of Arkansas. We think she is a Shepherd/Husky mix. She was born around September 1st. Baby Blue has one blue eye, which makes her very unique! She has a very sweet personality. She will probably grow to be a medium to large dog.
Baby Blue has started her series of puppy shots & will be spayed and microchipped when she is a little older.
Baby Blue is currently a guest of Out of the Woods Rescue in Little Rock, Arkansas. Meet Preacher! This handsome fella is a Mastiff / Cane Corso mix who is house-trained and said to be good with dogs, cats, and children. Here’s what is known about Preacher:
Preacher is all love! He’s a big boy, so needs a strong handler, and would be best with bigger kids. He’s wonderful on the leash & knows basic commands.
Preacher is currently a guest of Mountain Girl Rescue in Flagstaff, Arizona. If you’re lucky enough to be in the great state of Arizona, why not contact Mountain Girl Rescue at [email protected] or (928) 699-1320 so you can ask about Preacher and all of his friends. Visit their Facebook Page.
