As usual, the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s National Dog Show will be telecast on NBC, Thanksgiving Day after the parade (noon – 2 pm in all time zones). Yours hosts will be John O’Hurley, David Frei, and Mary Carillo.
If you’re too busy stirring the gravy, check back here often, as I’ll be live-blogging the show.
All of us here at doggies.com and breeders.net wish you a very safe and happy Thanksgiving! Please keep yourself and any guests safe – we want you all here for Christmas.
If you’re going to be stuck in the kitchen tomorrow, don’t forget to set your DVR to catch the National Dog Show! NBC will telecast the show on Thanksgiving from noon to 2:00 pm, starting right after the Macy’s parade.
I’ll also be live-blogging it here, as much as I can in between basting my turkey and whipping my potatoes. (So please be patient with me!)
I know, we all want to share a little of our Thanksgiving feasts with our dogs, especially because we may not have as many visitors in this virus-filled year. Just keep in mind there are some things on your table that may not be suitable for your dog.
The biggest problem may be herbs and seasonings. Garlic is a big no-no for your dog. Onions, too, can cause a problem. Grapes, raisins, avacadoes, and nuts are also on the no go list. And no chocolate or alcohol!
From the Facebook page of Evelyn Kennedy (and many others – not sure of the original source): a guide to which of your Turkey Day favorites are safe to share with your canine friends.
One additional caveat: make sure you remove the seeds from the apple slices – they contain trace amounts of cyanide!
Sorry for the lateness of this post. I usually try to post the dog show winners as soon as they happen, but this year I was the hostess for Thanksgiving, so I had to DVR the show. Without further ado, here are the Group Winners:

Toy: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
