Does Manhattan Hate Golden Retrievers?

August 17, 2008 · Print This Article

I just returned from a vacation in Manhattan. We saw all kinds of dogs out being walked. I was kind of surprised because I don’t think of NYC as a dog city. I guess you see so many people out walking their dogs because you can’t let your dogs out in a back yard you don’t have.

Anyways, in all of our travels – believe me, we walked up and down the whole island – we didn’t see even one golden retriever. We saw boxers, pugs, dachshunds, and tons of mutts. So, is there something New Yorkers don’t like about Goldens? If you live, or have lived there, let me know what the story is!

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

I’d like to know to?! i have a golden retriever and want to live in nyc. I did think that goldens are more of a country dog or suburban dog, they need space to run. They are very energetic dogs and if they don’t have any space to run, they will go crazy in your house. Keep me updated please! Thank you!

I THINK THAT GOLDEN RETRIEVERS HATE MANNHATTAN. THEY ARE DOGS THAT NEED LOTS OF EXCERSIZE AND ABOUT THE ONLY THING THE COULD DO FOR FUN IS CHASE PIGIONS. SO IT GOSE BOTH WAYS MANNHATTAN DONT LIKE GOLDEN RETRIEVERS AND GOLDEN RETRIEVERS DONT LIKE MANNHATTAN.
